Dean Martin is an executive coach and leadership development specialist who places an emphasis on personal growth born of deep self-reflection and practical application.

For over 20 years Dean worked as an HR management consultant, leadership development specialist and manager of talent development teams in corporate organizations. In these roles he honed his skills in building personal connections, quickly getting to the heart of the matter, identifying resources and barriers to success, and then offering methods that bring about increased capability in individuals and performance improvement in teams.

Each coaching session offers clients a focused thinking space where they are encouraged to view themselves with compassion and to see their challenges not as deficits to rectify but as opportunities to explore their uniqueness with curiosity.


Dean employs creative and clear ways to help clients manage the emotions and unhelpful self-talk that can make progress difficult. Clients can expect to leave each session knowing they have been deeply heard, and with actionable steps they are committed to take in order to build the skills that matter most to them.

Born in Cape Town, Dean Martin has worked as a leadership development specialist for 20 years in both London and now New York City. He has led teams in the sectors of consulting, tech and HR services.


His career experiences include teaching, authoring literacy & language textbooks, management skills training and team leadership roles. 

Lived experience

Dean knows the unique challenges of being in a corporate role while also coming out as a man of transgender experience. He seeks to let his life be an example of what it can mean to willingly adapt to various team and organizational cultures in order to meet client and team expectations while also remaining true to his authentic self.
